October, 2026 Pasadena Meeting
Mark your calendars, True Believers: the next LACPS meeting is just one short week away! This time, we’ll meet at our super-secret location in Pasadena—and at a special time: 12:12 PM.
Why, you ask? As seems to happen almost every year, San Diego Comic-Con tickets go on sale at 9 AM on the same day as our meeting. So there’s no way our fearless leader can make it at the regular time. Please note the special start time. If you need the location, contact DJ for details.
We could use a presentation! If you have any tricks or tips for growing carnivorous plants that you’d like to share with your fellow Carnivorous Plant-o-philes, please let us know.

What to expect
For a measly $4 entrance fee (cheap!), you can enjoy:
- Access to the LACPS Seedbank, if the Keeper of the Seeds (KOTS) shows up! There’s mostly Sarracenia, plus other goodies. Check out the seed list for what’s available and place your order in advance with John. The seedbank is open to everyone, with super-cheap prices available only at meetings. If the KOTS can’t make it, DJ will have special packets of Drosophyllum seeds, Venus flytrap mixed forms, artisanal Sarracenia crosses, and more—all priced at $10 or less per packet.
- Plants for sale or trade! Sell or trade your extra plants, with no kickback to LACPS required.
- Knosh and drinks, including special, super-rare, highly sought-after Marvel Super Hero-themed Oreos and Ale-8-One artisanal sodas. What other CP society would bring you that?
- Interesting and quirky conversations on all sorts of subjects—not just insectivorous plants. Don’t be shy!
- An open invitation to the traditional post-meeting gathering at an as-yet-to-be-determined eatery for a late lunch, at participants’ own expense. Someone just needs to research and scout a couple of prospective places.
- The opportunity to purchase exclusive LACPS Swag, including the latest T-shirt and a limited edition Baseball Cap.
